Beef Goulash

  • 1½ Ib round steak, cut into small strips
  • 1½ Ib onions
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 six-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1½ teaspoon salt

Cut up onions and cook in fat until limp. Add beef and cook until it loses its red color. Add other ingredients and simmer until tender (about 1 hour). Add water if needed.
